Academic and professional requirements:

• Doctoral (PhD) Degree in Public Health or Public Health Sciences
• Sound Publication Record Track
• To write and to speak English fluently

And:

• Experience in researching on longitudinal studies and in particular Birth Cohorts;

      or

• Training and professional experience in longitudinal data analysis with repeated measurements of outcomes, mixed (hierarchical) models and decision trees;

      or

• Training and researching in Social Epidemiology;

Activity outline: The fellows will integrate the EPIUnit - Epidemiology Research Unit - Institute of Public Health, University of Porto.

1 fellow will provide appropriate statistical input in the design, implementation and analysis of studies

1 fellow will be responsible for the management and implementation of research projects developed based on the population cohorts

1 fellow will conduct research on social determinants of health using data collected as part of the population cohorts

Workplace: Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, Porto, Portugal. Supervision by Professor Doutor Henrique Barros.

Duration and Stipend: The grant will have an initial duration of 12 months, with a possible extension up to 6 years, with an expected starting date in September 2015. Financial aspects are in accordance with the FCT regulations (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), which assigns a tax-free stipend of 1495€ per month (12 months a year).

MINUTES OF THE SECOND MEETING OF THE JURY FOR THE SELECTION PROCESS OF THREE POST-DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS WITHIN THE RESEARCH ACTIVITIES OF THE INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO - ISPUP (REF BINT2015007; REF BINT2015008; REF BINT2015009)

On September 11^th 2015 the selection Jury met at the Institute of Public Health University of Porto in order to make the curriculum evaluation and selection of candidates admitted for interview, according to the minutes of the first meeting, for the selection process of three post-doctoral fellows, to be hired within the research activities of the Public Health Institute of the University of Porto (ISPUP) (Ref BINT2015007, BINT2015008 and BINT2015009).

After verification of candidates’ compliance with the admission requirements as establish at the announcement, the Jury decided to exclude:

- Egbert Clevers

- Seetha Menon

- Valentina Di Gregori

These four candidates were not eligible on the basis of the inadequacy of the academic and professional requirements, namely a PhD degree.

The second phase of the evaluation criteria was the ranking of candidates, according to the sum of the scores on the criteria defined at the first meeting:

• Sound Publication Record Track based on ranking of the journal, IF and number of citations and number of papers as first or senior author (0 to 8 points);
• To write and to speak English fluently (0 to 3 point);

plus

• BINT2015007 - Experience in researching on longitudinal studies and in particular Birth Cohorts: previous work posts (0 to 3 points), leadership of or participations in field teams (0 to 3 points) and research projects with emphasis on methods (0 to 3 points);

or

• BINT2015008 - Training and professional experience in longitudinal data analysis with repeated measurements of outcomes, mixed (hierarchical) models and decision trees: previous work posts (0 to 3 points), leadership of or participations in data analysis teams (0 to 3 points) and research projects (0 to 3 points);

or

• BINT2015009 - Training and researching in Social Epidemiology: previous work posts (0 to 3 points), leadership of or participations in social sciences research with emphasis in health (0 to 3 points) and research projects (0 to 3 points);

The candidates with a classification of ten points or more were selected for interview.
